Parsons Child and Family Guidance Clinic is licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health to provide
outpatient mental health treatment services to youths, their families and caregivers who need help in
managing children's emotional and behavioral problems. Youths who are 18 years of age or younger and who
are having social, emotional, family, or mental health related problems are eligible for services.
Parents, legal guardians, school district personnel, and service providers can refer a child.
This outpatient clinic is a fee-for-service program. All services are covered and paid for according to a
child's health insurance plan. The program accepts most commercial insurance plans, most managed Medicaid
plans, Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus plans, and Medicaid. There is also a sliding fee scale for
uninsured participants. Because Parsons believes that a child's access to medical care is a life
necessity, Parsons' staff will assist any family in accessing insurance plans when needed.
The program's professional service staff include a licensed psychiatrist, experienced licensed clinical
social workers, and a registered nurse. Services include assessment and health screening, comprehensive
treatment planning, verbal therapies (individual and family), medical management, case management,
symptom management, clinical support, and crisis intervention.
