COVID-19 has changed the world. Some changes are temporary, like the ones that keep us apart from each other. But others are more permanent, like the thoughts and feelings in our minds and hearts, about the way we help and take care of each other. About what we can and should do for our fellow human beings. About who we are.
At Northern Rivers Family of Services, we are the ones who never turn away. We’re the ones on the front lines, caring for the most vulnerable children, adults, and families no matter what. Even in a time of enforced social distancing, a 12-year-old girl with no safe place to live needs residential care, clinical services, and emotional support. A young adult with long-term psychiatric challenges needs to see his therapist, process his traumas, and feel heard in order to be safe at home. A family with both parents out of work needs someone to help them process their new challenges and find the resources to stay together. We can never keep our distance from those in need.
This changing world makes it ever more difficult for us to keep going. We need your support now, more than ever. When you support the Northern Rivers Family of Services Spring Appeal, you’re empowering more than 60 programs and services to answer the call. You’re giving 18,000 children, adults, and families the critical support they need, day or night. You’re providing 1,400 dedicated professionals who wear their hearts on their sleeves with the means to keep going, keep fighting, and keep winning.
The world has changed, and it will keep changing. Help us ensure that things change for the better.
